From Museu do Fado, take the Rua dos Remédios, turn left at Rua da Regueira, and go straight on to Beco das Cruzes on the left. It is a 3-minute walk.
Alfama Neighborhood
One of the most vibrant and traditional neighbourhoods in Lisbon, Portugal. Located in the old part of the city near the Tagus River, Alfama is a maze of narrow cobblestone streets and alleyways populated by locals and lined with historic buildings, classic restaurants, and quaint shops.
The best part about Alfama is its rich history and culture, which can be explored through its museums, neighbourhood tours, and traditional Fado music. Tourist attractions in the neighbourhood include the São Jorge Castle, beautiful churches such as the Igreja de Santo Estevão, and iconic sites such as the Miradouro de Santa Luzia and Miradouro das Portas do Sol. Smaller attractions such as the Fountain of Alcântara, the Panteão Nacional, and the Feira da Ladra – the largest flea market in Lisbon can also be found in the area.
